It’s been a few months, let’s catch up (:

Hey, everyone! Since it’s been quite a few months, I definitely think it’s time to catch up! How about a life update post? (:

blog

Where do I even start? My gosh. it’s been so long and i don’t even know what to tell ya first! Well, to start off, how was everyone’s summer?? I seriously can’t believe it’s over already, this summer went by so quick. I was super busy though, that’s probably why! In one of my last posts before I left for awhile, I told ya’ll I was movin’ to another city so that kept me occupied for quite awhile. So far, Cody and I have been here for 3 months and we love it! We came at the beginning of summer and all of our friends just moved up here recently a weekend or two ago since classes at Illinois State University started this past week. So with everyone up here all together again, my weekends have definitely been crazy and fun!

Earlier this summer, Cody and I went on vacation to Myrtle Beach and it was the greatest time. Of course I made sure to snap some pictures for ya (: Check ’em out!

It was big group of people fit into a relatively small vacation home for one week, but I had the greatest time with all of them. Myrtle Beach is one of my favorite vacation spots and I’m still recovering from beach separation anxiety even though it’s been a month or so since I’ve been back! haha It rained almost every day, but I had a blast.

Once I got back from vacation, the job hunt started! Since I don’t start cosmetology school until January, I’ve definitely got a ton of free time, so the plan was to be working a lot. I struggled finding a job at first, but eventually something fell through for me and scored an interview and then later a job with Rue 21. It’s not much (and I’m getting a disappointing 7 or 8 hours a week) and I’m definitely not a retail kinda girl, but a job is a job.

Okay, so yellow 100% is NOT my color, but it’s whatever haha These are the back to school shirts we’re all required to wear and the only size they had left for me was a large. Yeah, not cute! I look like a giant banana.

And to top it all off, yesterday was National Dog Day, so I hope you guys wished your fur babies a happy dog day! This is my little lovebutt, Lacie. Love her puppy smile! Happy National Dog Day to my other babies as well: Little Bit, Mikey, Doodle Bug, and Lucy! Love ’em ❤

If ya’ll did anything fun this summer and wrote a post about it, definitely tag me in it down below so I can go check it out! Even if you did nothing too exciting, comment below and talk to me anyway (: I’ve missed you guys! With the Emmy’s and the VMA’s being all less than a week ago, I’ll have some makeup and beauty related posts back up soon, as well as an update on some other things I wanna share with you guys that I didn’t get a chance to mention here. As always, don’t forget to like this post and be sure to give me blog a follow for more from me (: I’d love to hear from ya! Until next time ❤

All my love,

Megan ❤

Gotta Have It or Live Without It: Nyx Natural Eyeshadow Palette

Hey, everyone! Happy Friday! Before I start my post today, I just wanna apologize that I haven’t posted as much this week as I would have liked to! I’ve been sooo busy. My mom just left and is going to be outta town for the weekend, so I’ve been helping her get packed and get things ready for her trip, among other things I had goin’ on this week. I’m hoping this weekend, or into next week at least, that I’ll get back to posting on a more regular basis! Anyway, today I’ve got a Gotta Have It or Live Without It makeup review for ya!

ImageThis is the newest eye shadow palette that I’ve purchase and it’s the Nyx Natural Palette! And I would like to take this moment to point out just how not centered it is in this picture… I had no idea it was that bad when I uploaded it. Embarrassing. hahah Anyway, you can get this eye shadow palette anywhere Nyx cosmetics are sold and I purchased mine at Ulta. Up in the top right corner is actually the price tag which did not come into focus, but I bought mine for $7.49. Kind of a weird price, but I didn’t feel that it was expensive at all since this palette comes with six different shadows.

ImageHere’s what all the shadows look like in the open package! I wish I would have gotten the time to swatch all of these shadows for ya, but I honestly didn’t even think about it. I would have preferred these shadows be a bit more pigmented than they actually are, but you don’t typically get too much color pay off with powder shadows. They’re not sheer by any means and still show up beautifully once you apply them, but for some you have to layer once or twice to get your desired color. Not too big of a deal, but I just wanted to warn any of ya in case that would be a problem.

Anyway, on to the shadow talk! As you can see, these shadows are nice and natural and the last two are perfect for a daytime smokey eye! I bought this palette about two weeks ago and I’ve been wearing some variation of a natural smokey eye almost every day! So this palette has already gotten a lot of wear time with me! I know my iPhone camera kind of distorted the coloring of these shadows, but that first shadow there on the far left is just a snow white color. It makes sucha pretty eyebrow highlight! And when you’re doing an eye look with these shadows, that white color just blends everything together perfectly. Love it. This palette also has the perfect mix of shimmer and more matte looking shadows, so depending on what you’re feeling that day or what look you’re going for, there’s defiantly going to be a shadow in here for ya to use.

Final Verdict? It depends! I wouldn’t say this is a product you need to drop everything and go out and buy right now at this exact second, but I do recommend it! These aren’t the best shadows that I’ve used, but they’re definitely 100% not the worst! For their price, you can’t go wrong. This is the perfect palette for beginners and those who are wanting to ease into learning how to do a smokey eye. Plus, this is going to make a great travel palette for me this summer! It’s small and compact and not expensive, so I can leave my more high-end shadows at home when traveling and bring this instead and still get a really pretty, fun look. If you’re someone who is more into more glammed out and sexy eye looks, I defiantly wouldn’t suggest you get this. I would hate for you to be disappointed. I just really love neutral colors with natural looks, so this was defiantly something I felt I needed to purchase! So, if you’re like me, this is something you’ll like! Basically, I’m really enjoying this palette and I’m happy I bought it!

Thanks so much for reading and be on the look out for my next few posts because I’m hoping to get back on a more daily posting schedule now that things have chilled down a bit! I’ll talk to ya’ll later! Have an awesome weekend!

XOXO, Megan ❤

Hellooo from Florida!

Photo: hate to brag, but uhhh, hellooooooo from FLORIDA! 😎󾌲󾌳󾌸oh, and it was over 80 degrees today... 󾍇

Hi Everyone! I hope ya’ll are doing great, it’s been a few days since I’ve been on last, I’ve been so busy here in Florida on vacay! Today we hit up Epcot and Animal Kingdom… I took tons of pictures of all the animals (like, seriously, an unnecessary amount), so I’ll post some of those for you guys soon (: They are too cute. I’m such an animal lover, it’s a bit crazy. But, since makeup is my thang, I just wanted to pop in here and do a quite makeup blog for you guys! I just wanted to go over really quick about the makeup I’ve been using down here in this Florida heat and humidity. I don’t have tons of time, so unfortunately I won’t be able to upload any pictures of the products, but (almost) all of them are available at drugstores, so they’re affordable, I promise!

Primer: Bare Minerals Oil Control. This is one of the only three products in my vacation makeup routine that aren’t readily available at the drugstore, but as Bare Minerals has become more popular, there’s usually a store at most bigger malls! This primer is the clear gel kind and it sets a perfect, slick proof base for the rest of my makeup.

Foundation: Revlon 24 hours. Trust me, guys, this is perfect for all my oily skin beauties out there. I have tried so many high-end and drugstore and everything in between, and this is one of my faves. I always come back to it! It goes on best over a primer and with using a damp beauty blender or foundation sponge/brush. It gives a great air-brushed look and never feels cakey. Great for heat and humidity!

Concealer: Avon Everlasting. This is one other product that isn’t available at your local Walmart, so you’ll have to order it online or through a friend who sells Avon makeup. This gives great coverage, doesn’t break the bank, and stays put all day! While I love to experiment with my concealers, I always have this one handy. And, although it can’t be bought at Walmart, it’s not expensive! It’s still less than $10 (:

Powder: Since I do have horribly oily skin and I’m mixing it with this Florida heat and humidity (and random rain storms!), I actually use two powders. First, I use the Neutrogena Shine Control to set my makeup, but I don’t use a powder puff to apply it, I use a powder brush instead so I don’t get tons of product on my face. Then, since my Shine Control is in a very light shade, I go over with the Maybelline Fit Me powder to bring some color back in and set everything furthermore.

Setting Spray: For most people, this step is entirely optional, but considering my skin type and current vacation situation, I really can’t afford to skip this step or else my makeup will probably drip off my face… not cute. And, I kinda wanna boast about this product anyway haha I use Ben Nye Final Seal Setting Spray and this is my holy grail makeup product. There is nothing else out there that makes my makeup stay all day like this stuff does. It’s not drugstore, but worth every penny! I plan on doing a complete review of this soon, so I won’t give too much away! But this is great and I can’t leave the house without it on!

So, there ya have it: a really quick over-view on my simple vacation makeup routine. I do wear a little bit of eyeliner and mascara as well, but for time sake, I won’t go over all that right now. Obviously, for going out at night with everyone, I ramp up my makeup a bit and add some lip color, bolder eye makeup, you get the gist! This is just my basic face makeup routine for what I wear while going to all the amusement parks down here. Hope you gained some makeup inspiration from this and I really recommend bringin’ some of these along next time you get a well deserved break to somewhere nice. (:

Have a great week and I’ll talk to you ya’ll soon! XOXO
