Happy 2015!

Hey, everyone! Happy New Year! Can you believe it, 2015 already?? I hope that this past year has been just as good for ya’ll as it has been for me. This year has brought me SO many new adventures and I documented most of them through pictures that I wanna share with ya’ll today! Just a suuuper quick flashback through my year (: I also wanna take a second to sincerely apologize for my long absence towards the end of 2014. I had so many new things going on and I just couldn’t keep up with everything at once. Things have settled down now and I’ve personally made it my new year’s resolution to start blogging on a daily or weekly schedule now, so prepare yourself to see a lot more of me this year! With that being said, since I’ve been away from WordPress for such a long time, we have a lot to catch up on, so let’s get started!

I’m gonna start as far back as my summer vacation! With it being in the dead of winter right now (and my area of Illinois currently being under a winter storm warning for later tonight with 6 inches of snow possible!) summer seems waaay too far away, so this just seemed super appropriate to start with right now. haha I traveled to Myrtle Beach in South Carolina with Cody’s family this summer and had way too much fun! I’m not a big beach person anyway (neither is Cody), but there’s SO many different things to do down there that it’s impossible to be bored. This picture was taken right before we all went banana boating (my first time!) and the guy driving us so kindly mentioned to me that when he was taking people out the day before, he saw a shark not too far away from them. I freaked out the whole time and about died laughing when we were all being thrown around by the waves, but it was so much fun. I’d do it again in a heart beat!

Fast forward a month or so to when Cody and I are officially moved into our new apartment and I finally got a new job! Working at Rue 21 isn’t the greatest, but I couldn’t love my coworkers anymore than I do. They’re amazing people and I’m so blessed to work with a team that meshes together so well. Every day is so much fun coming in to work with them! I’ve been at this company for about 5 months now and I’ll continue to work there through my cosmetology school classes as well. Which brings me to my next point….

The year of 2014 brought me one the greatest gifts of the year: I finally got accepted into the esthetics program at the cosmetology school I wanted to go to! I got accepted a while ago (can you tell by the tank top here and my mention of a winter storm warning earlier? it’s no longer tank top weather! haha), but now there’s not much time until my classes start! Actually, one exact week from today! Next Monday is my orientation (: I couldn’t be more excited about taking this next step in my life and I feel so lucky to have this chance. My decision to drop outta college and pursue this career path was met with a lot of snarky comments and some people being very supportive, but sometimes you just gotta do you. I can’t wait to prove them wrong. I also can’t wait to document my journey through cosmetology school and share everything with ya’ll! Thanks for being so supportive!

Moving into a college town (my boyfriend goes to Illinois State University so we live on campus) 2014 also brought so many new friendships. These are just two of the MANY new people I connected with this past year! I’m such a social person and I cherish all these new friendships that I’ve made. Weekend nights are never boring when you live on a college campus, that’s for sure!

2014 also saw the year that Cody and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary together. While our Facebook pages are blowing up with friends and family members getting engaged, we’re not interested in that right now. We’re practically engaged anyway… we live together, split our bills, you get what I’m sayin’. Besides, Cody needs to save up for that big ol’ rock I want on my ring finger some day! haha I seriously adore this kid and I don’t know what I did to deserve him, but I’m beyond blessed that God gave him to me anway.

As the year started to wind down and Christmas time rolled around (my absolute favorite time of the year!), I guess you could say I went a little overboard while decorating haha Confession: this picture was actually taken in early November. According to some (okay, most) that’s too early to be bringing out Christmas things, but when you’re with someone who is as holiday obsessed as I am, there’s no such thing as too early! Even right now, I’m still refusing to take the decorations down haha I might have a problem!

And on one of the last days of 2014, I got to get in some quality family time with my aunt and uncle, one of my cousins, and my grandparents while spending the day at a gorgeous winery. I have a huuuuge family and we live all over the country, so even though this was only a few family members, I still loved every second of it. Because really, isn’t that what these holiday times and the new year are all about? Just spending time with your loved ones.

So there ya have it, guys! I hope your 2014 was as eventful as mine and I hope your new year will be filled with health, happiness, and new adventures for you to go on. Today is one of the first blank pages of 2015, make sure you write yourself a good book this year!

Love you guys so much and I’m stoked to be seein’ more of ya in 2015!

XOXO always, Megan

It’s been a few months, let’s catch up (:

Hey, everyone! Since it’s been quite a few months, I definitely think it’s time to catch up! How about a life update post? (:

Where do I even start? My gosh. it’s been so long and i don’t even know what to tell ya first! Well, to start off, how was everyone’s summer?? I seriously can’t believe it’s over already, this summer went by so quick. I was super busy though, that’s probably why! In one of my last posts before I left for awhile, I told ya’ll I was movin’ to another city so that kept me occupied for quite awhile. So far, Cody and I have been here for 3 months and we love it! We came at the beginning of summer and all of our friends just moved up here recently a weekend or two ago since classes at Illinois State University started this past week. So with everyone up here all together again, my weekends have definitely been crazy and fun!

Earlier this summer, Cody and I went on vacation to Myrtle Beach and it was the greatest time. Of course I made sure to snap some pictures for ya (: Check ’em out!

It was big group of people fit into a relatively small vacation home for one week, but I had the greatest time with all of them. Myrtle Beach is one of my favorite vacation spots and I’m still recovering from beach separation anxiety even though it’s been a month or so since I’ve been back! haha It rained almost every day, but I had a blast.

Once I got back from vacation, the job hunt started! Since I don’t start cosmetology school until January, I’ve definitely got a ton of free time, so the plan was to be working a lot. I struggled finding a job at first, but eventually something fell through for me and scored an interview and then later a job with Rue 21. It’s not much (and I’m getting a disappointing 7 or 8 hours a week) and I’m definitely not a retail kinda girl, but a job is a job.

Okay, so yellow 100% is NOT my color, but it’s whatever haha These are the back to school shirts we’re all required to wear and the only size they had left for me was a large. Yeah, not cute! I look like a giant banana.

And to top it all off, yesterday was National Dog Day, so I hope you guys wished your fur babies a happy dog day! This is my little lovebutt, Lacie. Love her puppy smile! Happy National Dog Day to my other babies as well: Little Bit, Mikey, Doodle Bug, and Lucy! Love ’em ❤

If ya’ll did anything fun this summer and wrote a post about it, definitely tag me in it down below so I can go check it out! Even if you did nothing too exciting, comment below and talk to me anyway (: I’ve missed you guys! With the Emmy’s and the VMA’s being all less than a week ago, I’ll have some makeup and beauty related posts back up soon, as well as an update on some other things I wanna share with you guys that I didn’t get a chance to mention here. As always, don’t forget to like this post and be sure to give me blog a follow for more from me (: I’d love to hear from ya! Until next time ❤

All my love,

Megan ❤

Life Update!

So, today, I have some really sad news to share with you all. My beloved German Shepard, Gypsy, had to be put down on Monday. She was 18 years old, so I practically grew up with her. She’d been suffering from pretty bad arthritis for quite a while, but she was always still happy. This past weekend though, you could just tell that she was suffering now, she wasn’t happy anymore. It’s so heartbreaking, but I think it makes it a whole lot easier to take because I’m really comforted by that fact that she’s not hurting anymore. It’s really, really tough to lose a dog, especially one that was your first best friend and one you grew up with, but all dogs go to heaven, right? ❤

ImageI just wanted to let ya’ll know why I haven’t posted much this week and probably won’t until next week. I haven’t been myself, so I figured it was a better idea to just wait a little while instead of posting a bunch of half-ass blog posts where I’m clearly depressed in them. haha It was already a chaotic week anyway because on Saturday I move into my new apartment, so this is just added stress and anxiety to me.

On a lighter note, I do wanna get your opinion on something real quick…. I have been playing around with the idea of doing some videos on here for ya and I wanted to see if any of you would like that! I feel like if I started uploading some video blogs instead of just writing, you guys would be able to get to know the real me a little bit better. I’ll have to go out and buy a webcam or a video camera first, which isn’t a problem at all, I just figured I’d check with you first and see if any of you would watch! So defiantly let me know your thoughts (and any tips you have on that) down below!

Anyway, I just want to thank ya’ll in advance for being so patient with me this week. Some of you probably think I’m half past insane because I’m grieving this much over a dog, but I know my fellow pet owners out there will understand. Keep in mind, Gypsy was a dog I grew up with, so she wasn’t just a dog to me, She was one of my best friends. So thank you for your patience and support, ya’ll are the absolute greatest!

XOXO, Megan ❤

May Favorites! (:

Happy Friday, everyone! It’s officially gettin’ down to the last couple days in May, so ya’ll know what that means… it’s time for another monthly favorites blog post! Before I get into everything, I just wanna say something really quick. When I do my monthly favorites (actually when I do pretty much all of my blog posts) I like to use drugstore or relatively available and non-expensive products. I do this because I wanna include everyone, no matter their money situation. A few years ago when money wasn’t easy to come by for me, I would watch makeup tutorials on YouTube and I would always get so disappointed because they never used any drugstore products, making all of the looks they created difficult for me to figure out. I never want anyone else to feel like that, so I just prefer to use products that I love, can be found almost anywhere, and I know ya’ll will love too! Of course, if you ever have any questions about any high end products, don’t be afraid to ask! I just won’t typically do a blog post including them. So, with that outta the way, let’s get to my May favorites!

This Olay moisturizer has been a staple of mine for years! I’m actually not for sure if I’ve included this in a previous monthly favorites before, but I love it, so why not include it again, right? haha The thing that’s most important to me in a moisturizer is the SPF factor. You should be wearing SPF everyday, but it’s especially vital during summer. I don’t have sensitive skin, but I have acne-prone skin so I can’t usually wear sunscreen on my face because it breaks me out. So I have to use a moisturizer with SPF in year round. I first tried this out in high school and haven’t switched since! I’ve tried others, but I always, always, always come back to my good ol’ Olay. It’s available at any drugstore as well as Ulta and it’s for around $5 (:

While we’re on the topic of moisturizing, let’s talk about Maybelline Baby Lips! I’m obsessed with this line. Baby Lips and EOS lip balm are my favorites and I especially love this line because these Baby Lips lip balms have some sheer color to them that are just gorgeous for the summer months! This pretty pink color is Pink Punch and it tastes and smells like strawberry lemonade. Uhmm, yes please! If you guys haven’t tried Baby Lips before, I really have no idea what you’re waiting for! They’re widely available, cheap, and really keep your lips soft! Plus the adorable packaging is to die for.

Ya know what I just realized? I believe I’ve included these Nyx Butter Glosses before in another one of my monthly favorites. Apparently, I’m just full of repeats today. haha But this color is one that I just recently purchased, so I know I haven’t done this specific one yet. This is a gorgeous berry colored gloss called Strawberry Parfait.

Here’s what Strawberry Parfait looks like on! I tried to pucker my lips a little bit so you could see it better, but I ended up looking like I had a partial face paralysis hahah Excuse my extreme lack of photogenic skills. Anyway, what I love most about this Nyx Butter Gloss line is that these glosses never dry my lips out and they never feel heavy. They’re just light and give you the perfect amount of shine and color! These can be found wherever Nyx products (I always get mine at Ulta) and they’re for under $5.

I don’t know what it is with me and my little mascara obsession, but I go through mascara like it’s no one’s business. Once my mascara even dries up just the slightest little bit, I throw it away just so I can go try a new one. haha I can honestly say that I’ve never once bought the same mascara twice. I’ve never found one that just blows me away (if ya’ll have any recommendations, let me know!). This is the Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Mascara in black and, while it doesn’t blow me away, I have enjoyed using it. It takes some time to get used it because you can’t just go in like you would with other mascaras. This clumps and gets that spidery look really easily, so you need to go in with a really light hand and build gently from there. I don’t remember how much this one costs (I usually just grab drugstore mascaras without even looking at the cost haha) but I got mine at Walmart and I can assure you it was under $5. Would I ever purchase this again? Nahh, probably not. But I included it in my May favorites because it’s been my favorite mascara to use this month!

You guys, I am sucha freak when it comes to Biore products. I know I am and I know it’s bad haha I’m pretty sure I include another one of their washes and scrubs every single month. I even did a whole post about Biore a few months ago, so check that out here: https://psmeganelizabeth.wordpress.com/2014/04/15/my-tried-and-true-skincare-line/. This is their new facial cleanser that I picked up at the beginning of this month and I’ve been absolutely loving ever since! This is their Charcoal Pore Unclogging Face Cleanser and I believe it was a little over $5 available at any drugstore. In this picture, I pumped some out on my hand for ya so you could see that it really is charcoal! (Charcoal is proven to be a really amazing skin cleanser.) One of the things I love most about this is that you can use this all over your body, not just your face. If body breakouts are a problem for you, this is a wash you need to try out! Especially during the summer time when you have extra sweat, oil, dirt, and chlorine stickin’ to ya. After you use this, you’ll instantly notice a difference in your skin. You’ll be able to tell how deep down it cleaned and you’ll be left with a really fresh, clean feeling. The only thing is make sure that you follow up with a moisturizer because this can sometimes tighten your skin.

I hate the Kardashians. I’ll be the first to happily admit that. I think they’re annoying, spoiled, selfish people and I genuinely can’t stand any of them. But Kim’s wedding dress? I’m pretty sure we can all agree how elegant, classy, and gorgeous it is on her. I was 100% expecting her to come prancing down that isle in a tight, low-cut dress with a slit up to her lady muffin in 8 inch heels. Obviously, I was pleasantly surprised! I still hate the girl, but her dress deserved a spot on my May favorites list!

I hope ya’ll enjoyed this monthly favorites post! Remember, if ya’ll have any mascara recommendations (or any other products you think I should try out!), please let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear what you’re favorites are. As always, don’t forget to like this post and then give me a follow if you aren’t already for more beauty and lifestyle related posts like this one (: Thanks so much for hangin’ out with me for a little bit today and I’ll talk to ya’ll later! Enjoy your weekends!

XOXO, Megan ❤

The Liebster Award Nomination, Thank Yous, and Nominees! (:

Good morning, everyone! Ready for some more exciting news? I’ve been nominated, for the second time, for the Liebster Award! Whaaaat?! How crazy is that? I still just cannot get over the fact that people actually read my blog and care about what I have to say. I’m glad ya’ll don’t find me to be half as annoying as I find myself to be haha I was nominated by the ever so sweet http://cheapandlazybeauty.wordpress.com/ so be sure to go check her blog out! This chick is honestly so badass, I can’t even. She’s studying at a pretty prestigious college as a law student and she’ll be visiting Rome here pretty soon as well! And she’s beautiful! Talk about unfair. haha Defiantly go check out her blog and give her some love! You’ll love her just as much as I do.

The Rules For The Liebster Award:

1. You must link back to the person who nominated you;
2. You must answer the 11 questions given to you by the nominee before you;
3. You must pick 11 nominees with under 200 (or 2000 if you want to go with that) followers to answer your questions;
4. You cannot nominate the person who nominated you;
5. You must let the people you nominate know they have been nominated

Now, the thing is, I just very, very recently was nominated for another award, The Very Inspiring Blogger Award (click here to be linked to that: https://psmeganelizabeth.wordpress.com/2014/05/22/the-very-inspiring-blogger-award-nomination-and-thank-yous/ )! That award says you need to nominate 15 others and this award says to nominate 11 others. Since my blog has such a small following because I’m so new (only 2 months!), I only nominate other bloggers who I’ve made a personal connection with and really genuinely enjoy spending time over at their blogs. I don’t just nominate people for the heck of it because I do feel that getting nominated is something really special. I defiantly go for quality over quantity when it comes to my own nominations! Since I nominated some freaking amazing and gorgeous ladies just a few days ago, I don’t feel it’s necessary to go through the whole nomination process again for the same people, but I do have some new bloggers I wanna nominate! To see who I choose for The Very Inspiring Blogger Award, just click on the URL above (:

Here are my nominations for the newest bloggers that I’ve felt I’ve made a genuine connection with:

http://liveloveanddress.wordpress.com/ Hello world, meet Tania! It’s so funny because I was wondering just this morning who I was going to pass on the nomination to for this award and Tania found my blog this morning and we started talking! This girl is so real, there’s no other way to put it. She’s down to Earth, sweet, creative, and stunning! She’s into fashion and makeup, so her blog is a girl’s best friend! Go check her out, you’ll love what you discover over at her blog.

http://jacquienavarro.wordpress.com/ This is Jacque! We’ve been following each other’s blogs for a couple weeks now and we hit it off right away. Her blog is lovely. She does these awesome posts where she does really informative reviews that are so helpful. We’ve just recently been talking about different lipstick lines that we use and love and she’s one of the best people to bond with over all things beauty! Check out this pretty girl’s blog, you won’t be disappointed.

http://rxveur.wordpress.com/about/ This would be Kimberly (: I haven’t had much time to chat with and really get to know her as we’ve only talked a few times, but I can already tell she’s so unbelievably sweet. Like me, one of her passions is writing, which is one of the reasons she started her blog. So we already have that in common! She does blog posts on everything from makeup reviews to healthful eating to fashion advice! There’s something for everyone on her little corner of the world wide web. Be sure to stop by this gorgeous girl’s blog and stay awhile.

Those are my 3 absolutely incredible nominees for The Liebster Award and don’t forget to check out all my previous nominees from The Very Inspiring Blogger Award! I’ll link that URL for ya again: https://psmeganelizabeth.wordpress.com/2014/05/22/the-very-inspiring-blogger-award-nomination-and-thank-yous/ All of these ladies are so amazing and I’ve fallen in love with all of their blogs. There’s no doubt in mind that you’ll fall in love with their blogs too, so defiantly get you butt on over there to check ’em all out!

Here are the fun questions that http://cheapandlazybeauty.wordpress.com/ asked her nominees!

1. What is your favourite cheap beauty product? My current favorite cheap beauty product is the foundation that I’ve been using recently! It’s the Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation and I’m on my third jar! It applies so beautifully and leaves you with this gorgeous, natural finish. And the color stays all day, imagine that! haha

2. What is your favourite lazy beauty product? My favorite lazy beauty product is defiantly some time of mascara! Mascara is absolutely a must-have if you’re goin’ for a more natural, no makeup makeup look.

3. What are your top 5 drug store products? My top 5 drugstore products are Maybelline Color Whispers and Baby Lips, Revlon ColorStay Whipped Foundation, Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation, Biore face cleaners and scrubs, and Miliani Baked Blushes.

4. What are your top 5 high end products? Mac Pro-Long Wear Concealer, Benefit’s Porefessional Primer, Nars blushes, Makeup Geek eye shadows, and Ben Nye Final Seal Setting Spray.

5. What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given? I have been given countless pieces of amazing advice and I can’t just pick one, so I’m gonna chose the one that has the most relevance to me lately: “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” This summer, my life is gonna consist of alot of changes and new opportunities. I’m naturally a pretty fearless person, but it never helps to remind yourself to take chances.

6. Who are your guilty pleasure music artist? I’m obsessed with music so it’s practically impossible to decide on a guilty pleasure music artist! But I have to say currently that the new Iggy Azalea song “Fancy” is gettin’ to me. People are all like, “OMG, this song is awful.” And I just agree even though it’s been growing on me and, when I’m alone and this song comes on the radio, I may or may not be guilty of turning the volume all the way up.

7. What is your favourite skincare product? Witch Hazel is my new found love. Check out my skin saving review here: https://psmeganelizabeth.wordpress.com/2014/05/12/gotta-have-it-or-live-without-it-dickensons-witch-hazel/

8. What is your favourite hair care product? I honestly don’t really care about hair. haha I’m boring when it comes to that, I just straighten it and go. So probably my Chi straightener then! It has silver glitter all over it, it’s totally girled out. haha

9. What are your top three tv shows of all time? The Bachelor and Bachelorette, The Walking Dead, and probably some other trashy reality T.V show haha

10. Do you care about politics and why? No, not at all. The only thing politically charged that I care about is gay rights because my bestfriend since 2nd just recently came out and I will fight til the day I die for her to be able to walk down the street with her girlfriend without getting harassed. I do also speak out against BSL and I’m advocate for Pit Bulls and rescue shelters, but I don’t know if that’s really political?

11. If someone gave you £100,000 what is the first thing you would buy? I don’t know how much that is in American money, so I’m just gonna pretend it’s $100,000 here too because I’m an idiot and can’t figure that out. hahah But I’d buy my mom a new car, pay off my boyfriend’s college tuition, pay for my future cosmetology school tuition, and donate the rest to animal rescue charities and cancer society charities. I might save a little bit too I guess!

And here are the 11 questions I wanna ask my amazing nominees….

1) Who has had the most influence in your life?

2) If you could have dinner with 3 people, past or present, who would they be and why?

3) Describe your dream vacation!

4) What does your typical makeup routine consist of?

5) If you could go back in time and tell your younger self anything, what would it be?

6) What’s the best present you’ve ever received?

7) What’s your dream job?

8) High end or drugstore beauty and makeup products?

9) Why did you start blogging?

10) What is your must-have makeup staple?

11) Name 3 random facts about yourself!

I hope ya’ll enjoy this rather long post haha And please don’t forget to check out my 3 current nominees and my past nominees from The Very Inspiring Blogger Award (https://psmeganelizabeth.wordpress.com/2014/05/22/the-very-inspiring-blogger-award-nomination-and-thank-yous/)! Thanks so much for reading and I can’t wait to see what my beautiful nominees said back to my 11 questions! Congrats again, girls! Ya’ll are so amazing and you deserve it! If you guys wanna know a little bit more about me, don’t forget to give me a follow! Connecting and getting to know all of you is pretty much my sole drive in blogging, so never be afraid to talk to me (:

XOXO, Megan ❤

Get To Know Me! (:

Hey, everyone! I hope ya’ll had a great long weekend and a fantastic Memorial Day. Of course we all spend that day grilling out, swimming, and hanging out with family and friends, but I hope none of you forgot the real reason for the holiday. My step brother, Sean, gave his life fighting for everyone’s freedom, so I will always be beyond thankful for his selfless service as well as every other solider… past, present, and future. If you know someone who served, I hope you gave them a big hug yesterday, because it’s much deserved!

Now, on a lighter note haha I’ve been busy gathering up some products to review, getting my May favorites in order, and figuring out some fun summer looks to do for ya’ll, so today I just wanted to do something a little bit different! As many of you know, I just recently reached 100 followers (yayyyy!) and I’ve been nominated for two awesome awards so far, so I wanted to celebrate by doing a little “about me” type dealio so ya’ll could get to know me a little bit better! I strive to have a connection with people and I absolutely love learning about others, so I figured I want you guys to learn what I’m all about too (: Today, I decided to do 50 Facts About Me, enjoy!

50 Random Facts About Me!

1. I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas so I’m a city slicker through and through! Anywhere with big buildings and lots of noise and people is where I’m most comfortable.

2. Music is my life. I’m like a walking iPod. I know every word to every song that’s been created since, like, 1998. haha My friends are constantly asking me the lyrics to songs, who sings what, what album the songs are on, who produces it… and I know everything. It’s crazy.

3. Along with knowing everything about music, I also know a pathetic amount about pop culture. I know everything about every celebrity that’s ever walked this Earth. You’d think all I do is sit around and read tabloids, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s just like I was born with this information, I have no idea where I get it from! It’s like a super power. A pointless super power, but a super power nonetheless!

4. There are three main food groups to me: pizza, bread, and s’mores. Everything else is irrelevant. I should weight 8,000 pounds and only be able to bathe in a kiddie pool. Who knows how I’m not ginormous.

5. I’m a horror movie fanatic. No one movie genre keeps my interest other than scary movies. If you know of a good one you think I should watch, let me know! I’m always on the lookout for new ones!

6. I can’t cook to save my life. I once blew up a microwave, caught cereal on fire, and cooked a hot pocket for 14 minutes. I’m a danger in the kitchen.

7. Babies are quite possibly one of my least favorite things in the world. All they do is scream and I think they smell like noodles. Apparently, I’m lacking the Mommy Genes that every other woman seems to have.

8. I love bad weather. I’m happier when it’s cloudy outsides as opposed to sunny. Weird, right?

9. I haaaate superhero movies. Batman, Spiderman, Cat Woman, The Hulk, Fantastic Four, Superman… I hate them with a burning passion.

10. I have a shameless girl crush on Jennifer Lawrence, Lupita Nyong’o, Ellen DeGeneres, Lorde, and Melissa McCarthy.

11. I know every word to every Backstreet Boys and Nsync song that’s ever been created.

12. I suffer horribly from sedatephobia, which is the fear of silence. Being in a quiet environment gives me terrible anxiety and can send me into a panic attack.

13. I’m allergic to men in sandals. No. Just no.

14. Hunting makes me sad. I don’t see the purpose or the fun in shooting an innocent animal.

15. I love me some homemade chocolate chip cookies!

16. I am physically incapable of walking in heels. I look like a newborn horse when I try. Not cute.

17. My ears aren’t pierced because I have the worst fear of needles. I’m the crazy person who cries, screams, throws up, and passes out when I have to get a shot. Because apparently I’m 5 years old.

18. I’m the biggest adrenaline junkie! Bungee jumping, sky diving, rock climbing, scruba diving, roller coasters, swimming with sharks… you name it, I wanna do it!

19. Monkeys terrify me. They’re like little human aliens. Plus, one threw poop at me once. That might have something to do with it!

20. Gay rights are something of utmost importance to me. One of my bestfriends since 2nd grade just recently came out and it sickens me to know we live in a world where she can’t walk down the street holding her girlfriend’s hand because she gets harassed.

21. Walking Dead is quite possibly the best show ever created. I discovered the first season on Netflix and have been an avid fan ever since! Everyone who knows me know that Sunday nights are off limits, that’s Walking Dead night!

22. I’m oddly attached to my goldfish, Thomas. He’s been alive and swimmin’ for two years now!

23. The Hemsworth Brothers are God’s most beautiful creation.

24. I don’t understand math. I just don’t. I’ve been tutored by math teachers, students, friends, family, etc and I still don’t get it. I took a math placement test to get into college and I scored into elementary school math. Embarrassing, right? haha It just doesn’t click with me, no matter what I do.

25. I love people who aren’t perfect. I love people who have scars and have stories to tell. Those are my kinda people.

26. I want many, many tattoos! Nothing big and crazy, just simple ones that have a lot of meaning to me. I have an appointment for my first tattoo this summer and I couldn’t be more excited.

27. If I could change my hair color everyday, I so would! Dark auburn hair is my favorite and I envy you if that’s your current hair color!

28. Christmas is my favorite time of the year.

29. When I’m stressing out, deep breathing almost instantly relaxes me.

30. I’m addicted to back massages! My boyfriend spoils me and gives me one almost every day. (:

31. I believe in God and my faith is important to me. It’s gotten me through some pretty tough times.

32. I almost bought a chinchilla once. I went home to get my wallet, but when I came back, someone had already bought it. And I live less than 5 minutes away from PetSmart. Talk about heartbreaking!

33. Reading magazines is one of my favorite past times and Cosmo is my absolute favorite!

34. Dogs and sharks are my favorite animals, though there’s not an animal I don’t love.

35. I hate candy. Smarties are pretty much the only candy I enjoy.

36. Animal rights are my passion. I speak out against Breed Specific Laws (which work to ban certain breeds from towns or other environments), and I’m an advocate for Pit Bulls, my favorite dog. I have two pits and there’s not a doubt in my mind that if you met them, you’d fall instantly in love.

37. My bucket list consists of some crazy things, but one thing that I wanna do the most is swim with sharks. I would love to swim with Great Whites (in a cage, of course. I’m not crazy. haha), but swimming with Lemon, Reef, or Whale sharks without a cage is my dream! To be next to something so massive and beautiful is just mind blowing to me. They’re such amazing creatures.

38. Long car rides are one of my favorite things in the world. Sometimes I enjoy them more than the actual trip.

39. Some people annoy me so much when I’m around them that I actually start to get a headache… is that mean? haha

40. I have reeeally picky sleeping habits! I sleep with about 7 pillows, the room needs to be freezing cold, and the mattress can’t be too hard or too soft… basically, I’m really annoying to sleep next to. haha

41. My absolute biggest pet peeve is rude people. I just wanna punch rude people in the face. Can’t stand them.

42. You’ll never meet anyone more impatient than I am.

43. I think Miley Cyrus is one of the worst human beings in the world and I hate her.

44. I’m petrified of the dark and 100% convinced that if I leave my leg outside of the covers at night, something will eat my leg off. Maybe I should stop watch so many scary movies?

45. People who drive giant trucks and rev them up every two seconds piss me off. Who are you trying to impress?

46. I’m an early riser. I love getting up early to go for a run, sit on the patio and eat breakfast… anything. I just love having that time to myself, it starts my day off right!

47. I love me some scary movies, but Pixar movies are some of the greatest movies ever, especially the Toy Story and Monsters Inc movies!

48. I have so many dream jobs that will never come true because, unfortunately, I can’t have 45 jobs at once. So depressing. haha

49. My favorite colors are sky blue, mint green, and anything neon.

50. Animal rescue is what I live for! If you take anything away from this post today, please just let it be a new found appreciation for animals. I spend my days giving a voice to the voiceless. I’m not saying you need to immerse yourself in volunteering, but just find out what you can do to help out your local shelters. Your life will be forever changed, I promise. (: There’s no better dog than a rescue dog.

I hope ya’ll enjoy this 50 About Me post and I hope you learned some fun things you didn’t know about me before! Never be afraid to tell me a little bit about yourself because I wanna get to know you too! Thanks so much for hanging out with me for a little bit today, I’ll talk to ya later!

Summer Look of the Week: Hayden Panettiere!

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope ya’ll are havin’ a great day and have some fun plans this weekend! Wedding season is upon us, so I have another wedding event to go to this weekend. I’m excited, but I’m pretty sure that I’m gonna be all wedding-ed out by the end of this summer haha With the summer heat really starting to pick up, I’ve got summer makeup looks on my mind today, so naturally, I think it’s time for another Look of the Week! This week I’m featuring the lovely and oh so flawless Hayden Panettiere!

This girl can rock natural makeup like it’s no one’s business. I choose this particular look because I thought it would be perfect for those warm summer nights! It’s nothing too crazy, but she still looks put together and stunning. Read on to see what products I would recommend in order to recreate this same look!

If you notice in the above picture, Hayden just appears to be glowing from within. She’s got this really radiant, beautiful shimmer to her that I just adore for the warmer months. It looks healthy and natural! If you want this same glow, let me introduce you to your new best friend: L’Oreal Lumi Foundation. It’s almost like this foundation has a highlight in it which just accentuates and brings out the natural glow that you already have. The sun reflects off of this so beautifully that those guys at the beach aren’t gonna be able to keep their eyes off of ya! You’re welcome (;

For this look, I really wanna emphasize natural, dewy looking skin, rather than a strong, matte face, so you’ll need a highlight for this as well. I 100% recommend using the Maybelline Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser. Just find the shade that matches your skin the closest and then go bout 2 to 3 shades lighter to find your perfect highlight. For me, it’s the lightest color this line has to offer. Yay for being pale! You’ll then apply this underneath your eyes, down the center of your nose, in the middle of your chin, and in the middle of your forehead. Blend the highlight out and you’ll instantly notice a more awake, glowy look on your skin.

When doing natural makeup, one of the most important things you can do is apply a good, pigmented blush. Applying a pink-y blush right on the apples of your cheeks (then blend it outward, toward your ear) is gonna give you this really beautiful color and wake up your whole face. I recommend Milani’s Baked Blush line. These blushes have color plus shimmer plus bronzing in them to give you the most natural color possible. In the picture for Hayden’s look, the thing I was most drawn to was her blush. Just imagine her look without it: she wouldn’t look nearly as alert, healthy, or radiant. Blush really does make that big of a difference.

Hayden’s makeup artist just gave her a really soft lip look. Feel free to use a neutral lipstick and gloss, but honestly, all that I would use is a lip balm with a little color and shimmer in it. If you haven’t already tried the Maybelline Baby Lips line, you’re seriously missing out! They moisturize, give you the perfect amount of color and shine, plus, you can’t even tell me the packaging isn’t freaking adorable. Stop it, Maybelline. Just stop it. You’re killin’ me.

Last but not least: the eyes. If you want something a little more dramatic, then go ahead and go in with liner and neutral colored eye shadow. But for a natural summer look, I typically just go in with some mascara and call it a day. When you’re not doing liner, it’s important that you find a great mascara so your eyes don’t get lost on your face. Benefit’s They’re Real Mascara is a heaven sent for those of you who are like me… lacking those long, voluptuous eye lashes! This mascara really does what it claims it will. It makes you appear like you’re wearing falsies! This doesn’t streak, fade, clump, or fall throughout the day for me and I haven’t heard any complaints from many others either, so this is a safe bet. Plus, Ulta just started carrying Benefit products so this is more readily available now (:

I have oily skin, so I would need to finish this look off with some powder and then go back in with a setting spray to assure that everything will stay during the day. Do whatever you feel most comfortable with, but I do always recommend using something to set everything with. I know Mac has some really gorgeous setting powders, but I’m not too picky with that so I just use some drugstore powder! Use what you love (: Also, this look is pretty versatile… if you want more bronzing, add more! If you want more dramatic eye makeup, add more! If you want more lip color, add more! You get what I’m saying? haha That’s the glory of natural makeup. You can do virtually whatever you want with it!

I hope ya’ll enjoyed reading this summer inspired Look of the Week post and if you have any questions about anything, ask away! Don’t forget to like and then give me a follow for more posts like this! Thanks so much for hanging out with me this morning and I’ll talk to ya’ll later! Enjoy your Friday!
